In 55 Words FD MC Challenge 2017 – Day 164

I did mention something more lighthearted would be appearing sooner than later and here it is. The inspiration this time around is the rivalry between gamers when it comes to their brand/console of choice, with E3 as the backdrop. I’ve always thought that the idea of “winning” the show was pretty dumb and I simply despise hearing people trash talk others because they don’t share the same tastes. Let’s solve this with a bit of mind control, shall we? Have fun.

All Three

“Microsoft won E3!” Paul said.
“Excuse me?” Aaron rebuffed. “Sony won E3!”
“You guys are funny…” Dean laughed. “Nintendo won E3!”
Samantha rolled her eyes, snapped her fingers.
“I win all three,” she declared, pulling them deeper and deeper under her spell.
The performances on the show floor were about to get way more interesting.

Video games make a return today because E3 is right around the corner. I’m looking forward to checking out some of the conferences next week and, hopefully, be surprised by some unexpected announcements. I don’t play as much as I used to in the past, but I still enjoy unwinding with some software escapades.

I chose another Nintendo franchise to twist this time around, namely Metroid. I enjoy the series, having played most of the titles in one way or another. I skipped the last installment on 3DS because of its multiplayer component but I had a blast with the Wii ‘s original title even though it became sort of a black sheep amongst gamers after its release.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, look for Metroid: Other M. It was an action-heavy game with quite the melodramatic story attached to it. Series protagonist Samus Aran, badass bounty hunter, is given a more fleshed backstory and, according to many, goes from being a superwoman to a passive, obedient one. The fact that she acts so submissively around his former Commander Adam Malkovich didn’t sit well with the Internet in general at the time and, on many levels, it still doesn’t.

I don’t have that kind of problem with the game as a whole, but I write about Dominant women so you already know I’m going to subvert this. What you don’t know yet is how so please look at the image below.

reggie-geoff

Recognize them? On the left, you have Reggie Fils-Aimé, current President of Nintendo of America and on the right, you have Geoff Keighley, former host of GameTrailers TV and the extinct G4tv.com. He interviewed Reggie on many occasions, many of which spawned memes galore and other hilarities. Some secrets were also revealed in them. As such, I decided to write my own and that’s what you’re about to read. This is a parody, this is humor, an indirect tale of Female Dominance and Mind Control. I hope you like it.

Have a good weekend.

Franchise Revival

“Reggie, about that last surprise…”
“Well, Geoff… Samus is back! In Metroid: Other Mistress, she goes looking for a Chozo artifact capable of turning the Space Pirates into mindless servants. Adam also makes a return and, this time, he’s the one needing to ask permissions. What do you think?”
“Shut up and take my money!”

In 55 Words FD MC Challenge 2017 – Day 142

If there’s one thing I don’t like when playing a game with someone is trash talk. Competition is fine and all but insults, even if thrown in a jokingly fashion, rub me the wrong way, and can have serious consequences. It was with this in mind that the genesis of this piece came to be but, given the scope of the challenge, something else was required.

Sometimes, my shorties feature indirect forms of mind-control. Sometimes, the female character doesn’t really have an actual physical presence in the context of it all, although that doesn’t detract from her dominance in any way. This is one of those tales as you’ll soon come to find out. Have fun.

A Game of Triggers

It was a clean shot. Justin’s kill streak went down in flames.
“Suck it!” Mark exclaimed. He regretted it the moment he saw his friend give the joystick a fellatio. “Oops… Ellen’s triggers still run deep, huh?”
“Yes. What about yours?”
“I… hmmm…”
“Up yours, Mark!
His scream was heard in a ten block radius.

The Metal Gear video game franchise has always been a weird one. On the one hand, it deals with very heavy themes such as the atrocities of war, the impact of genetics, what personal identity really is, amongst other things. On the other, it does so in a world filled with quirky characters, offbeat humor and moments that constantly break the fourth wall.

Mind control themes also pervade the series, most notably brainwashing and hypnosis, but nanomachines are used to explain just about everything. It something is off, you can bet these insidious little things have something to do with it.

In Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, there’s this very curious Easter egg that takes place inside a locker on the tanker chapter. In a game filled with mindfuckery, this is one of those that have no reason whatsoever to be there except to satisfy some bizarre fetish by series creator Hideo Kojima. Nonetheless, the Easter egg gained notoriety over the years and even became a trophy/achievement in the HD re-release of the action-adventure stealth game. I wrote this piece because of it – as evidenced by the title -, adding my own twist to fit the female dominant nature of this challenge. I hope the purists will forgive me the mention of a character that doesn’t really appear in said game, but I also hope they’ll appreciate a certain strange reference of my own to another dialogue sequence in the original Metal Gear Solid.  A weird series deserves a weird writing and I’m a weird person too so… perfect storm? Enjoy this 55-words codec conversation and until tomorrow.

Snake Beater

“Snake, did you just…?”
“Hmmm”
“You’re supposed to be a super soldier. Don’t you have anything better to do?”
“Love can bloom when one least expects, Otacon.”
“I’m not sure jerking off inside a locker room counts as love. What’s gotten into you?”
“Nanomachines.”
Meanwhile, halfway across the world, Dr Naomi Hunter laughed out loud.

Today’s little snippet is, once again, inspired by the world of video games. I went with Bayonetta. If you’re somewhat familiar with the series, you’ll know that, although she’s a hyper-sexualized character, she’s also a strong, independent, kick-ass one as well, not the kind of person you want to mess with because, if you do, chances are you’ll lose over and over again. Having enjoyed my time with this universe a few years ago, I use it here in a bit of light-hearted fun. There are lots of references hidden in these 55-words and I promise you they all make sense at some level, although I did take some liberties when it comes to the lore in order to make the overall concept work. If you don’t know the game’s setting at all, perhaps this one isn’t for you. Until tomorrow.

Hypnotic Climax

The Umbran Witch approached the defiant angel and stomped the floor. The servant of Paradiso’s platinum head rolled nervously until it faced the right direction.
“If you want to learn how to talk to a lady…” he heard. “… look into my eyes.”
The Eyes of the World shone with feminine splendor and balance was restored.

Inspired by the video game series Uncharted. Yes, it supposedly ended with the fourth installment A Thief’s End, but why can’t I be allowed to “continue” it in such a fashion? I’m sure you can imagine there’s something more to the relic than first meets the eye…

U5

“Elena, are you okay?” Nathan Drake shouted from atop the pit.
“I’m fine.”
“Do you see anything down there?”
“I see everything! It’s all real, Nate! The Queen of Sheba was real!”
“I never doubted that. Hold on, I’m coming to meet you.”
“Oh wow… this scepter…”
“Elena?”

In 55 Words FD MC Challenge 2017 – Day 112

It’s the weekend, and all sorts of dirty thoughts are crossing my mind right now. Dirty thoughts often get turned into stories and this was the first one that came to mind. No point in trying to explain it in greater detail because I simply sat down and wrote it. The only thing truly curious about it all is that I hit the word limit on the first try. That rarely happens (sometimes, I have to trim things and, on rare occasions, add a word or two to the first draft, but not this time though). Enjoy your weekend.

Time to Suck

“So I couldn’t beat your game, huh?” Harrison gloated. “Well, I just did, Pat… Suck it!”
“I’ll leave that to you… Enjoy the credits!” She grinned.
He looked at the TV, now filled with kaleidoscopic reflections and images of strap-ons flashing in quick succession, and froze.
He would suck big time from that day forward.
